MIRNA QUEIROZ Mirna is born in São Paulo, Brazil, 1968. In the 80's, she studies journalism at Universidade Católica de Santos. She is employed by SESC - Serviço Comercial de São Paulo as communication consultant. There she deals with theatre, dance and literature festivals. Late 80's, Fernando Collor de Mello becomes president of Brazil. She works at TV Bandeirantes in the production staff of Canal Livre, a show with debates and analyses of the most important events in the Brazilian economic and political scene. At the turn of the decade, she produces Opinião, a talk-show, on TV Gazeta, with interviews conducted by Washington Novaes, Carlos Brickman and Luís Nassif, presenting the principal figures of the Right and the Left wings of Brazilian politics. At TV Record, she is editor of its news programs. The network's founder, Bishop Edir Macedo, is arrested. Censorship in TV Journalism follows. She resigns. 1993: she comes to Europe. She travels and begins her studies of Italian, Italian Cinema History and Video Productions, in Florence, Italy. In Portugal, a job at Euromonitor, clipping and analysis of economic news for the major portuguese corporations. She becomes a collaborator for Brazilian newspapers and magazines, such as: Jornal do Brasil, Revistas Nova, Manchete, etc... 1996: stringer of Brazilian Services in London BBC Radio. One of the authors of a series for the newspaper Público, entitled OITENTA VIDAS QUE A MORTE NÃO APAGA (EIGHTY LIFES NOT SNUFFED OUT BY DEATH), coordinated by Fernando Correia da Silva. 1997: new challenges: she moves to Brussels as a correspondent of London BBC Radio. She collaborates with Rotas e Turismo (Routes and Tourism), a Portuguese magazine. She writes for Vidas Lusófonas, a site on the Internet.
