FANNY ABRAMOVICH Translated
by John D. Godinho
For
years I worked as a journalist. I
wrote reviews of books for children, covering what was being published for
their enjoyment. I had to deal
with sacred cows and bring to the surface aspects which had gone unnoticed
before. I loved it.
I did the same type of work on television, on the Globo and Cultura
networks. I talked about toys,
records, theater, children’s books. I
had a ball! I also wrote for
several newspapers and magazines. I
worked a lot as a consultant in projects especially designed for children
and young people, in the theater, literature and education. I made
suggestions regarding book collections for children and teenagers. I adored
it! I
traveled throughout the country, participating in roundtable discussions,
conferences, and teaching – in big cities and in small hidden hamlets.
In some, I would stay only one day, in others,
I would stay for three weeks. It
was wonderful! I
wrote books for teachers. The
best known is Quem educa quem? I
prepared anthologies which covered questions dealing with childhood and
adolescence. I raised issues. The
most recent book for teachers is O
professor não duvida? Duvida! I wrote a slew of books for young people.
The best known are Quem manda em mim sou eu, As voltas do meu coração and
Que raio de professora sou eu?
Those who read them, enjoyed them.
Great! I also have some
published books for children. Among
them are Também quero para mim, Sai
para lá dedo-duro and Olhos
vermelhos. I loved writing
every one of them. I
always liked what I did. Well...If
I didn’t like something, I wouldn’t do it.
That’s why I enjoyed so much everything I became involved with.
And it’s been worth it. _______________________________________________________ LIVES
