CARLA SHERMAN

An independent translator since 1988, Carla has translated a number of literary works, including some of Clarice Lispector’s short stories, such as Love (Amor), published online at http://www.northbaywebs.com/translations/love.htm. She also specializes in subtitles for TV.

Mrs. Sherman has a B.A. in French & Portuguese and a Master of Arts degree in Romance Languages awarded by the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro. She was a French Literature professor at the State University of Rio de Janeiro and was preparing her PhD dissertation when she moved to the United States.

She currently resides in Ojai, California, and is editor in chief at Silent Heart Press, the publishing arm of The River Ganga Foundation, dedicated to spreading the message of American spiritual teacher Gangaji through the publication of translations of her work.
